Village to offer free shuttle buses for Taste of Lombard
LOMBARD, Illinois—The Village of Lombard will once again provide free shuttle bus transportation to and from specific locations to Madison Meadow Park, the location for the annual “Taste of Lombard.”
The shuttle buses will pick-up and drop-off from three locations: Madison School, Pleasant Lane School and Glenbard East High School. Pick-ups from these locations will all go directly to the Taste of Lombard at Madison Meadow Park. The times for the shuttle bus operation at all locations will be:
Thursday, June 30 — 7 to 11:30 p.m.
Friday, July 1 — 7 to 11:30 p.m.
Saturday, July 2 — 4 to 11:30 p.m.
Sunday, July 3 — 4 to 11:30 p.m.
Monday, July 4 — 4 to 11:30 p.m.
Bus locations are indicated as such with banners. Exact pick-up and drop-off locations are also indicated with signs to help riders locate the exact pick-up points. Generally, the pick-up locations are the north side of Glenbard East (off Wilson Avenue), the Green Valley side of Madison School and the Pleasant Lane side of Pleasant Lane
School. Extra buses will be provided at each location on July 4 only to accommodate the large number of people who attend the Village's fireworks display (scheduled to begin at dusk) at the Taste of Lombard on the holiday. A handicapped accessible bus will be available and will be dispatched to any of the three locations as needed.
The Taste of Lombard shuttle buses are provided courtesy of the Village of Lombard and are funded through the hotel/motel tax fund. The event is run and operated by the Lombard Jaycees. The hours of operations for 2011 are as follows: from 5-11 p.m. June 30 and July 1; noon to 11 p.m. July 2-4.
