Fehlman all-star game set for Monday

The rosters have been selected for the 8th Annual Dave Fehlman Memorial Senior All-Star Softball Game, which will be played Monday, June 13 at 7 p.m. at Judson University in Elgin.

The game is named in memory of Dave Fehlman, a past president of the Fox Valley Renegades travel softball organization and an avid supporter of high school and travel softball in the area for many years. Fehlman’s daughter Lissa was the honorary co-captain of the Daily Herald’s Fox Valley All-Area team in 2005 before going on to a stellar four-year career at Evansville University.

The East team will be coached by St. Edward head coach Jaci Corn and the West team by Burlington Central head coach Cray Allen.

Players are asked to be at Judson at 5 p.m. and to wear black shorts. T-shirts will be provided.

The game is sponsored by the Northern Illinois Lightning, Judson University, Fox Valley Sports Academy, Scheffler Electric, Feeny Chrysler-Jeep, and the Daily Herald.

The Judson softball team will be selling concessions, and an MVP from each team will receive an award. Ceremonial first pitches will be thrown out by Matt Schacht, one of the founders of the game, and by Judson softball coach Becky Stenning.

There is no admission charge but a 50/50 raffle will be held and donations are accepted to help defray the cost of the game.
