Fire, KC end in scoreless draw

Sporting Kansas City played out a scoreless draw with the Chicago Fire in their first home match at the new Livestrong Sporting Park in Major League Soccer on Thursday.

Kansas City played to its third straight draw and has not won since a season-opening 3-2 victory at Chivas USA.

Chicago also recorded its third straight draw and has not won for 11 straight matches since beating Sporting 3-2 at home on March 26.

The Fire had a late chance when backup Sporting goalkeeper Eric Kronberg failed to hold a Dan Paladini shot, but Orr Barouch's point-blank strike hit the crossbar.

Sporting's best chance came in the 15th minute when Graham Zusi put a shot past Sean Johnson from 8 meters, but was ruled offside.
