Wheeling approves plans for new daycare

The Wheeling Village Board approved plans Monday for a large daycare center to be built at 850 McHenry Road.

The 233-child facility would be the largest daycare center in Wheeling. The building is designed to look like a castle at the front with the rest of the building styled to match the residential areas that surround the area where it will be built.

Trustee Dean Argiris requested that developers work with village staff to make sure the red and blue decorative roofs of the turrets aren’t “Kiddieland colors.”
