Catch some laughs Saturday when The Second City comes to the Montrose Room in Rosemont. You can expect sketches, songs, improv and some serious fun in this once-a-month appearance at the club. Doors open at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Montrose Room, InterContinental Chicago O'Hare, 5300 N. River Road, Rosemont. Tickets are $15-$20 in advance, $20-$25 at the door. Mellow out with Mer

After a long week, we all need a way to ease into the weekend. So head out after work on Thursdays to the deck at The Cubby Bear North in Lincolnshire. The acoustic group Mer performs, weather permitting. Sip your cabernet, nibble on cheese and take in the sights — all for free — at Cityscape Bar's Vino with a View wine sampling Thursday. Guests can try a variety of wines and enjoy an assortment of appetizers while gazing out at the River North view. And if you're still hungry, you can get buy-one-get-one discount coupons for dinner at the ItaliAsia Restaurant.
