Suburban companies plan to downsize

A total of about 245 workers with three suburban companies face unemployment as the businesses either restructure or close, according to documents fileD with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.

CastleRock Security Inc., a security system service in Arlington Heights, said it is closing and would eliminate 102 jobs by late July.

Rosemont-based LifeSource, which provides blood donation services, said it is restructuring and would eliminate 63 positions by mid-July.

Also, First Student, a school and employee bus company with offices in Glen Ellyn, said it will lay off 80 workers by late June due to a lost contract. The company is owned by First Group in Cincinnati.

Calls to the companies were not immediately returned.
