The Bard goes to the movies

Several Lake County and Northwest suburban movie theaters will show four classic Shakespeare titles this summer and fall. Shakespeare’s Globe London Cinema Series will be shown at Century 16 Deer Park, 21600 W. Field Parkway, Deer Park; Lincolnshire 20 Plus IMAX, 300 Parkway Drive. Lincolnshire; and Niles 12, 301 Golf Mill Center; among other theaters in the Chicago area. All shows are at 7 p.m.: “The Merry Wives of Windsor” June 27; “Henry IV, Part 1” Aug. 1; “Henry IV, Part 2” Aug. 18 and “Henry VIII” Sept. 15. Each performance includes a 20-minute historical perspective on the Globe, the reconstruction process and a behind-the-scenes look at each production.
