Kane Co. Forest Preserve District calls for raises
Kane County Forest Preserve District employees can look forward to getting a slightly better raise than last year if commissioners approve the salary schedule in the new budget.
The Executive Committee of Commissioners reviewed a budget plan Friday to allow money for a 2 percent raise for district employees. Employees also received raises in the current budget year, but they averaged less than 2 percent. Members of the district's senior staff will also see a raise of 2 percent or more via an increase in the salary ranges for their positions.
The district's highest paid employee is Executive Director Monica Meyers. She is the lead administrator for the district, with similar respective duties to what Kane County Board Chairwoman Karen McConnaughay does.
If the raises are approved, Meyers could earn a salary significantly higher than McConnaughay's $101,765. The new pay scale could see Meyers earn $141,000 per year.
Overall, the forest preserve district is pitching a balanced budget with stable fund balances for the next five years, including the pay raises.
The proposed new salary ranges for Kane County Forest Preserve District senior staff:
Ÿ Executive Director Monica Meyers: $94,000 to $141,000 per year.
