District 70 raises lunch prices

Lunches for Libertyville District 70 students will cost more next year as schools move to cardboard trays that can be recycled.

Currently, the foam trays used by Chartwell’s School Dining Services are not recyclable and have to be thrown out. The switch to cardboard will increase the cost by 15 cents. A single lunch will increase to $2.90 and a five-punch ticket will rise from $13.75 to $14.50.

Milk tickets also will be bumped to $3 from $2.50 for 10 half pints of milk.
