Village of Lombard Reports Increase in Fuel Efficiency

These actions have increased the total fleet's average miles-per-gallon by 16% during the past three years, according to Dave Gorman, Assistant Director of Lombard's Public Works Department.

The Village urges residents to turn off and then restart engines if idling more than 30 seconds. "An added benefit is reduced air pollution for the community and, most directly, for the drivers and passengers," added Gorman.
