Palatine man charged with molesting a child

A 51-year-old Palatine man who authorities say has no criminal background faces charges that he sexually abused a child.
A Cook County judge set bail at $200,000 for Miguel Beltran-Espinosa of the 1300 block of Turtle Creek, who has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault.
Prosecutors say the child told her mother late last month about the abuse, which authorities say occurred on several occasions.
If convicted of the class X felony, Beltran-Espinosa could face between six and 30 years in prison.
He next appears in a Rolling Meadows courtroom on June 16.
