Motorcyclist dies in Gurnee crash

No one else was involved in the crash that resulted in the death of Eric Friedle of Antioch, said Gurnee police Cmdr. Jay Patrick.

Gurnee police and fire department personnel responded to the crash about 2:05 a.m. It occurred at Rollins Road and Scarborough Drive on Gurnee’s west side.

Friedle is believed to have swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway. He then struck the curb, lost control of the motorcycle and hit a tree.

Two witnesses, Friedle’s friends, were in a car next to him when the crash occurred and gave statements to authorities at the scene. There was no evidence alcohol or drugs played a part in the accident.

Friedle was pronounced dead at 2:59 a.m. today at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
