'Glass Slipper' finale at Steel Beam

Steel Beam Children's Theatre closes its 10th season with one of the most beloved fairy tales of all time, “The Glass Slipper,” an adaptation by Vera Morris of the age-old story of Cinderella.

Haley Maul of Aurora plays the young girl forced to work for her wicked stepmother, (Sara Monteleone of West Chicago) and evil stepsisters, Brunhilda and Cleopatra, (Dianna Medic of Lombard and Anna Masini of Batavia). Cinderella never loses her gentle, cheerful disposition, despite being forced to sit among the ashes and having no friends except mice, a shy cat and the magical “Pumpkinhead” (Courtney Bender of South Elgin).

Steel Beam Children's Theatre's “The Glass Slipper” will delight young audiences with the familiar story of Cinderella, who wins the heart of the prince (August Anderson of Batavia) — despite her scheming family — all with the help of her very own Fairy Godmother (Sofie Peltier of St. Charles).

It runs through Sunday, June 5, 2011. Show times are Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m. at the theater, 111 W. Main St., St. Charles. The theater is handicap accessible, with free parking and a variety of restaurants nearby. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children under 16. For tickets, visit www.SteelBeamTheatre.com.

The Glass Slipper cast includes: Haley Maul of Aurora; August Anderson and Anna Masini of Batavia; Chase Costello of Elburn; Maggie Kohler of Elgin; Henry Huth, Kathleen Mirilli, Alysiana Carter-Tang, all of Geneva; Dianna Medic of Lombard; Caroline Cole of Naperville; Chloe Besser, Megan Brubaker, Lissy Holbrook, Beth Mehl, Sofie Peltier, Alec Podl, Zach Podl, and Anna Wright, all of St. Charles; and Courtney Bender of South Elgin, and Briana Piccardi of Winfield.
