June edition of 'Naperville Connected' now available

The City of Naperville reminds residents that the June 2011 edition of its resident newsletter Naperville Connected is now available to view as a PDF at www.naperville.il.us/connected.aspx.

This month's newsletter features information about changes to water/wastewater rates and the Naperville Smart Grid Initiative Ambassadors Program, introduces the city's new Emergency Management and Safety Coordinators, provides valuable bike and fire safety tips and encourages residents to learn more about solicitor and peddlers' licenses and permits. The city's pilot recycling drop-off program is also featured.

Naperville Connected is a one-page publication distributed monthly with residents' and businesses' utility bills. For e-Bill customers, a link to an electronic copy of Naperville Connected is sent to the e-mail address they provided to the city.

Naperville Connected replaces the former Bridges newsletter that was mailed quarterly to every home and business in Naperville. By transitioning the newsletter to a one-page, in-house printed publication, Naperville is saving 7,938 pounds, or 252,000 sheets, of paper per year. Additionally, Naperville will save an annual $54,000 on postage fees and $35,000 on printing costs.
