Captains clip Cougars 9-4
The Kane County Cougars enjoyed a pair of leads Tuesday night but still fell 9-4 to the Lake County Captains in the Cougars’ first game at Classic Park in northern Ohio.Leonel Santiago and newcomer Santiago Garrido served up 4 home runs to the Captains, and the Cougars were outhit 13-7. Julio Aparicio went 3-for-3 with his first homer in the loss.The Cougars scored 2 quick runs off Cole Cook (2-5) for an early 2-0 lead. Aparicio doubled home Alex Llanos in the first, and Geulin singled in the second and later scored on a wild pitch.The Captains tied the game in the third off Santiago. Cheslor Cuthbert then gave the Cougars a 3-2 lead with a sixth-inning RBI single, but Lake County scored 4 runs in the bottom half and never looked back.
