Investigation continues into early morning Tri-state car fire

No one was injured in an early morning car fire the Tri-State Tollway early Tuesday. The right lanes of I-294 were shut down near Route 176 for about an hour after the car caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames about 6 a.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, officials said. Traffic was reduced to two lanes on the Tri-State for about 90 minutes while firefighters attacked the blaze.
