Stop entitling illegal immigrants

The scholarships that are to be given to the illegal immigrant children has prompted me to write. I am truly saddened by what is becoming of this great nation. I feel that the only thing the politicians care about are votes. This great country was built by immigrants. But the immigrants of then and the immigrants of now are totally different. The immigrants then worked hard, saved, learned to speak English without ESL classes and fought in our wars and were a proud people. They were too proud to take anything for free and raised their children to know that hard work and saving is something to be proud of.

The immigrants of now take, take, take. They receive free medical care, food stamps (I thought these were for Americans) and subsidized housing. Our government is bending over backward to these noncitizens at the taxpayers’ expense.

I don’t have a problem with immigrants trying to make a better life for themselves, but the entitlements need to be taken away. The problem is that there are too many immigrants coming into this country illegally and it is taking a huge toll on this country financially. If our government would wake up and enforce our laws and take away these entitlements, we could have a chance of getting back on our feet and regain being the strong country we once were.

Illegal is illegal. If you are here illegally, you have no rights. But I now know, it’s all about the votes. Shame on the politicians! I for one would like to see this country run by business people. It is a business and should be run as such. Cut the freebies to noncitizens. I want to make sure this country stays a great country for my children and future generations.
