Destiny calls; this is Cubs’ year
Mark your calendars, Harold Camping has rescheduled the Apocalypse for Oct. 21, 2011. In a normal year, this event would pre-empt the World Series. This year, however, the championship also has been rescheduled to begin earlier, on Oct. 19.
For long suffering Cubs fans this represents a final opportunity for their team to play in the Series. Is this merely a coincidence? Despite their current standing and the fact that half of their starting pitchers are on the DL, I choose to believe that this is a sign that the Cub’s chances are excellent. After all, what would be more fitting than to finally make it to the World Series only to have the world end just as Game 3 starts?
