Sign up for basketball camp in Batavia

Submitted by Immanuel Lutheran School

The Bulls/Sox Academy will be hosting a Chicago Bulls Fundamentals Camp on Tuesday, June 14, through Friday, June 17, at the Immanuel Lutheran School, 950 Hart Road in Batavia.

It is a four-day basketball skills camp designed to teach players the latest techniques in ballhandling, passing, shooting, footwork and rebounding, as well as offensive and defensive team play.

All academy instructors have listened and learned directly from the Chicago Bulls coaching staff, with many playing professionally themselves. Athletes will get a complete understanding of how to play basketball in a fun and safe environment.

The camp will be broken down into three groups and is open to boys and girls. Session I will be kindergarten through second grade from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Session II will be third through fifth grade from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and Session III for sixth through eighth grade from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Participants will receive top flight instruction from the professional academy staff, a camp T-shirt and a replica autograph photo of NBA MVP Derrick Rose.

Each athlete will have his or her name entered into a raffle to win one of three incredible autograph and/or ticket prizes: a Derrick Rose authentic autographed jersey, a 2010-11 Chicago Bulls team autographed basketball and tickets to a 2012 Bulls home game (restrictions apply).

The camp costs $90 per participant and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Immanuel Lutheran School athletic programs.

The Bulls/Sox Training Academy opened in 2001 in Lisle, and runs extensive training programs in basketball, baseball, fastpitch softball, and sports conditioning for boys and girls from beginner to professional. There are additional satellite academies in Glen Ellyn, LaGrange, Tinley Park and Schererville, Ind.
