Lambs Farm hiring deadline extended

Lambs Farm is extending the deadline for its summer employment program for people with developmental disabilities.

This unique program provides young adults between the ages of 16 and 21 the chance to learn vocational skills and transition from an academic setting to a work environment.

The program is designed to teach skills that are required to gain and maintain employment, including integrity, problem solving, interacting with co-workers and supervisors, and more.

Career exploration and tours of local businesses will also be part of the curriculum.

Students will work in one of the campus businesses, gaining real-world vocational experience and will be compensated for the work completed.

After a day of work and classes, participants will join recreation where they can engage in individual and group exercise.

The six-week program runs from June 20 through July 29, and is $1,800 for all assessments, fees, activities and materials.

Transportation and extended programs are available for additional costs.
