Gurnee revs up ad campaign

Gurnee is making plans to launch another promotional campaign designed to boost village businesses. The village will run the “Gurnee’s Got It!” marketing effort in partnership with Michael Fohrman’s Gurnee-Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep, Gurnee Park District, Lake County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Gurnee Chamber of Commerce. Officials expect the effort to kick off in August to coincide with back-to-school shopping. “Gurnee’s Got It!” will be promoted through cable television, radio, Internet, newspaper advertising as well as on social media sites Facebook and Twitter. Most of Gurnee’s income is from state and local sales tax, which is why officials said they decided to make an effort to stimulate village businesses with the campaign.
