Ill. campers may use ReserveAmerica site

SPRINGFIELD — Illinois tourists looking for Department of Natural Resources campsites, cabins and picnic shelters may reserve them online through the ReserveAmerica system.

Those who want to fish, hunt, hike or just relax may use a credit card to ensure a campsite is set aside for them.

Reservations require a $5 nonrefundable fee and payment of the full fee for camping and utilities at the time the reservation is made.

Campsite reservations are available at 67 of Illinois' state parks and other sites managed by the Natural Resources Department. Shelter reservations are available at 51 sites.
