Fire destroys Elk Grove Township mobile home

A structure fire consumed a mobile home and heat from the flames damaged two nearby homes at the Touhy Mobile Home Park Monday night, an Elk Grove Township Fire official said Wednesday.
No one was home at the time and no firefighters, residents or pets were injured, Elk Grove Township Fire Capt. Joseph Tobiasz said.
When firefighters arrived at the house in the 400 block of Touhy Avenue around 6:46 p.m. Monday, it was fully engulfed in flames, Tobiasz said. It took firefighters four hours to extinguish the flames and conduct the investigation.
The roughly 16-foot-by-40-foot home was completely destroyed. What caused the fire is yet unknown.
Des Plaines and Elk Grove Village fire departments assisted.
