Poi Dog, Lauper, Bacon Brothers coming to Paramount

The Paramount Theatre in Aurora recently announced the rest of its entertainment lineup for the 2011-12 season, which also marks the 80th anniversary for the 1,851-seat restored art deco theater situated near the Fox River.

Acts like alternative rock group Poi Dog Pondering, rock duo The Bacon Brothers (featuring actor Kevin Bacon) and 1980s pop-icon Cyndi Lauper are part of the mix, as are comedians Frank Caliendo and Bill Engvall.

The Paramount previously announced four musicals (“My Fair Lady,” “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “A Chorus Line” and “Hair”) that make up the theater's new self-produced Broadway subscription series that will anchor the new season.

Custom Paramount Theatre subscriptions are available now, while single tickets are set to go on sale Monday, June 13. For information on the full Paramount Theatre season, call (630) 896-6666 or visit paramountaurora.com.

Poi Dog Pondering is set to play the Paramount Theatre in Aurora on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012.
The Bacon Brothers will come to the Paramount Theatre on Tuesday, Aug. 30.
