Parents responsible for teen drinking

My stand on the teen drinking incident is the parents should have been held responsible along with the teens. The teens were the ones doing the drinking and it was their choice for doing so, but the worse part of it was that the parents allowed for the underage drinking of alcohol.

The parents might have not been doing the drinking, but any smart parent following the laws would have at least called for a halt to the consumption of alcohol and would have not even allowed for it to have been brought to the party in the first place.

My stand is that the teens are responsible for their own bad choices because they are adults, but the parents should also be held accountable too for the allowance of alcoholic beverages to be consumed by the teens at their own house.

This situation could have been handled differently and in a more intelligent way by both the parents and the teens.
