“On My Honor”—Hanover Park Mother/Daughter Team Joins Girl Scout Government!

Two Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois (GSNI) volunteers from Hanover Park were elected to important governing positions during the organization's annual meeting on April 16. Mother and daughter, Miriam and Alexandra Fleig, accepted positions as National Council Delegates.

Miriam Fleig is employed as a Proofreader for McMaster-Carr Supply Co. She has been active in several community organizations including the Paramount Tall Club of Chicago and Immanuel United Church of Christ Bartlett. Fleig has also held various Girl Scout positions, including service unit manager, troop leader, troop service coordinator, Council Delegate, and Strategic Learning Strategy Team member.

Alexandra Fleig is a sophomore at Bartlett High School and a Girl Scout Senior with Troop #1386. She is also the Bartlett High School Football Manager. Fleig has been involved in many Girl Scout activities, including caving, whitewater rafting, camping at Girl Scout Camp Pokonokah Hills and acting as a Program Aide for several day camps held at Pokonokah Hills. She has earned the Girl Scout Bronze and Silver Awards, the highest awards a Girl Scout can earn at her level.
