Clearbrook receives Nicor grant
Nicor Advanced Energy (NAE) announced that it is providing a grant equal to a year’s supply of natural gas to Clearbrook, the largest provider of home-based services to people with developmental disabilities in Illinois.
For 2011, as in years past, NAE’s grant will cover the cost to heat one of Clearbrook’s homes in the Northwest suburbs for a full year.
This year’s contribution totals almost $1,500. NAE has been making the annual donation since 2006, under the auspices of the company’s Lock 12 program, a bill management plan that allows customers the ability to pay the same amount for their natural gas usage over a 12-month period.
“Nicor Advanced Energy has supported our organization for many years now, and we appreciate their steadfast commitment,” states Gloria Drake, vice president, communications and event planning, Clearbrook.
“The grant is a great help to us, especially in light of state budget cuts. NAE’s generosity allows us to provide a warm and safe environment for the individuals who live in one of our homes in Rolling Meadows.”
Nicor has a long tradition of supporting the communities where it does business from financial contributions to the volunteer efforts of its employees year-round.
“The Nicor team strongly believes in building a better community and Clearbrook is one of many causes we support,” says Susan Hodge, senior product manager for Nicor Advanced Energy. “We look forward to continuing to help Clearbrook achieve its worthy mission.”
