1 dead, 1 injured in restaurant shooting near UW Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE — One person is dead and another is injured in a shooting at a restaurant on Milwaukee's east side.

Police are searching for three suspects in the shooting inside La Piazza just before 1 a.m. Tuesday. The restaurant is near a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee dormitory. UWM police were among the first responders.

Authorities tell WTMJ-TV one person was found dead in the bar area of the restaurant. Investigators believe the shooting is the result of a fight.

The deadly shooting happened just days before La Piazza was scheduled to close its doors.
