Chicago worker charged with DUI in crash

Authorities in Chicago contend a worker was intoxicated when the city truck he was driving plowed into a crowd of eight people on the city's near North Side over the weekend.

Police say 61-year-old Dwight Washington is charged with driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed, negligent driving and transporting open alcohol in a vehicle.

Authorities say Washington has worked for the Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation since June 2006.

The crash Saturday left several pedestrians injured. Some of those hurt were models who were posing as a wedding party when they were hit by the Ford F150.

Washington is scheduled to appear in bond court Monday.
