NIU lands pair of recruits

New Northern Illinois men’s basketball coach Mark Montgomery earned commitments from a pair of recruits Friday.Former Niles North High School standout Abdel Nader, a high-scoring small forward and a one-time New Mexico commit, selected the Huskies and becomes their seventh incoming freshman this fall.NIU#146;s revamped squad will open the 2011-12 season Nov. 11 at Purdue. The home opener will be Nov. 14 versus Milwaukee.NIU also picked up a commit from 6-foot-1 shooting guard Mike Davis of Garfield Heights (Ohio) High School. He#146;s in the Class of 2012.
