Elgin wins 20th of season

The Elgin High softball team continued its season turnaround Thursday, beating St. Chalres East 5-2 to notch its 20th win of the season.

Jennah Perryman (9-8) pitched the final 3 innings for the win. Hannah Perryman (2-for-4, 2 runs), Rachel Roth (2-for-3) and Jaclyn Navarro (RBI) led the offense for Elgin (20-13, 9-10 Upstate Eight).

Geneva 2, Larkin 1: The injury-deplted Royals gave Geneva a tough game but could manage only 2 hits in this Upstate Eight loss. Corinne Wimmer had a double for Larkin (9-23, 2-12). Kiernan Schock allowed just 5 hits in suffering the loss.
