Villa Park Rec offers tennis classes
Villa Park Parks and Recreation announces that a variety of tennis classes are available for all ages
this summer. Three sessions are available and held on Monday and Wednesday: June 6-22,
June 27-July 13 and July 18-Aug. 3.
Pre-Beginning Tennis is for ages 5-6 and focuses on fundamentals including simple strokes, serves and coordination. Classes are held from 4:30-5:15 p.m. at the Willowbrook High School south courts. The fee is $29.
Beginner Tennis for ages 7 and older will introduce players to ground strokes, serves, volleys, scoring and game play. Classes are held from 5:15-6:15 p.m. at the Willowbrook High School north courts. The fee is $39.
Continuing Tennis will allow players 7 and older to continue working on basic strokes and will introduce footwork and the overhead serve. Players must have prior experience or have taken beginner lessons. Classes are held from 6:15-7:15 p.m. at the Willowbrook High School north courts. The fee is $39.
Tennis for adults includes an Adult Tennis Clinic that is great for players of all levels and will include work on strokes, footwork, serves and volleys. The clinic meets from 5-6:15 p.m. Tuesdays, June 7-July 26, at the Willowbrook High School north courts. The fee is $65.
An Adult Singles League is also available. Participants will play a competitive match each week.
Tennis balls will be provided for each match and prizes will be awarded. This league runs from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesdays, May 24-Aug. 2, at the Willowbrook High School south courts. The $7 fee is payable each week.
Adults can also participate in a Doubles Drop-In league. Grab a partner and go to the Lombard
Common Tennis Courts from 8:30-10 a.m. Saturdays, June 5-Aug. 28. Those without a partner will be
paired with someone on site. Please bring your own racket. The $6 fee is payable each week. For
