Two men held in Carpentersville armed robbery
Two men are in custody as Carpentersville police continue to investigate an armed robbery of a wireless store Wednesday morning.
Just before 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, two men entered the T-Mobile Boost store at 91 S. Kennedy Drive, forcing the lone employee to the ground, Carpentersville police said. Then, abruptly, the men ran away.
Public works employees reported seeing two men jumping over backyard fences and running through the neighborhood just minutes later, narrowing the police search.
Officers arrested the men after they were found in a house on Meadowlark Lane, according to police.
The house belongs to one of the suspect’s sisters, but police said she was unaware the men were inside. She had just arrived home when approached by officers wondering if she had seen the men.
The two suspects were still not charged Wednesday evening, as the investigation continued, but will appear in bond court Thursday, according to police.
