Solutions to satisfy taxpaying customers

Just giving you a heads up on the next election cycle. It appears the current regime in Kane County and in state government cannot think outside the box to reduce costs and keep our taxes lower.

The recent state income tax increase and the Kane County property tax increase is a poorly managed program by our elected politicians. In addition, poor planning by Kane County with numerous road construction projects are costing us more in gasoline due to detours or the stopping and starting at various construction sites.

Three strikes and you are out. State tax increase, county property tax increase and road construction causing increase expenses for gasoline at a time when gas prices are skyrocketing.

Suggestions:

Ÿ Consolidate school districts at the highest level and reduce costs of the higher paid employees. Sixty percent of our property taxes go to school systems. Pennsylvania has implemented such a cost reduction and the quality of education is not affected.

Ÿ Work on road projects at night like other states do such as Oregon. Costs are lower and the public is not inconvenienced during work commute.

Kane County should find ways to be more economical so property taxes are not increased during a slow economy.

Ÿ Big corporations do not operate the way our governments do in Illinois. Big corporations find “cost savings and reductions” to keep costs affordable and keep customers happier. Corporate profits are protected.

Politicians should consider the general public as customers and perform to satisfy the customer.

Based on the three examples above, our current political team is not performing in the best interest of the customer.

Hopefully we see and elect numerous new faces next election who think outside the box.
