Man gets jail, probation in molesting case
A Waukesha, Wis., man was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 30 months probation Tuesday after he admitted molesting a 15-year-old Gurnee girl.
Vincent Visconti, 29, pleaded guilty to criminal sexual abuse during a hearing before Lake County Circuit Judge Fred Foreman.
Assistant State's Attorney Reginald Matthews said Visconti was a longtime friend of the girl's family, and spent time with her at her home and at his residence in Wisconsin.
On Sept. 26 of last year, Matthews said, the girl's mother caught Visconti and her daughter in a sexual situation.
Foreman ordered Visconti to undergo a sex offender evaluation and to follow any recommendations for treatment or counseling made by the evaluator.
He also ordered Visconti to make a $500 contribution to the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center as part of his sentence.
Matthews said Visconti could have faced up to three years in prison if he had been convicted after a trial.
