Judson’s Dimiceli All-American again
Judson University softball senior Nicole Dimiceli has been named a National Christian College Athletic Association All-American for the fourth straight year.
The Lake Park graduate is the first Judson female athlete to be named an all-American four times. Soccer player Christina Thornton of Dundee-Crown earned the award three times.
Dimiceli holds five career records at Judson, is a four-time all-CCAC player and a two-time NCCAA Scholar Athlete.
Judson’s Sam Gladen (Cary-Grove) and Emily England were voted All-American second team and Eagles coach Becky Stenning was recognized as the North Central Region Coach of the Year.
Judson finished the season 32-18, a school record for wins, and tied for the program’s first conference championship.
Baseball
Judson No. 2 seed: Judson’s baseball team is the No. 2 seed in this week’s NCCAA World Series in Mason, Ohio. The 42-17 Eagles will open World Series play against King College on Wednesday.
The Eagles also landed six players on the all-region team in the NCCAA North Central Region with Johnny Amann (Jacobs), Brian Brauer (Streamwood), TJ Swank (Prairie Ridge), Nate Rohl, Nick Krisman and Tyler Ware all earning recognition. Eagles coach Rich Benjamin was named the region’s coach of the year as well.
