Three charged in Willowbrook mugging

A 19-year-old Willowbrook man and two male juveniles are facing criminal charges in connection with a strong-armed robbery that happened Friday night at an apartment building near Willowbrook.

Dorian Ford of the 10S600 block of Ivy Lane and the two juveniles suspects each have been charged with one count of felony robbery, the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.

Police said the robbery occurred around 6 p.m. Friday when the victim met with one of the juvenile suspects at the apartment building. The two were supposed to discuss some differences they were having when they went inside and sat on the steps.

After short discussion, police said, “four or five” males started to kick and punch the victim and then took his cellphone, wallet, cigarettes and lighter. The attackers ran away after one of the residents walked into the building, authorities said.

The arrests were made after a short investigation. Ford was being held at the county jail on $20,000 bond.
