Willow Stream Pool in Buffalo Grove holds grand opening

The community is invited to the celebration of the grand opening of the newly renovated Willow Stream Pool from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18. The event was originally scheduled for June 11.

Built in 1972, Willow Stream Pool, operated by the Buffalo Grove Park District, was in need of a major renovation. Although technically it is still the same pool, in many ways it is a completely new facility.

The most noticeable improvements include a new water slide, a ramp entrance that makes the pool accessible for people with special needs and a completely renovated bathhouse. The facility also has a new deck, new pool liner and a new filtration system.

The dedication will include free refreshments, tours and raffle prizes, including free summer family pool passes, a free pool party, and the opportunity to be the first person to go down the new water slide. Everyone who attends will also receive a free commemorative towel.
