New Woodland teachers contract

Gurnee-based Woodland Elementary District 50’s board and the teachers union have reached an agreement on a 1-year contract extension through the 2011-12 academic year. Along with no salary increase, stipends for student supervision and extra-duty pay were frozen at their present rate for the upcoming school year. The Woodland Council chapter of the Lake County Federation of Teachers and the board also agreed to eliminate the approval of tuition reimbursement for staff during the 2011-12 school term. One-time retirement incentives also will be made available to instructors under the deal.
