Sing! competition upload party at Deer Park on Saturday

An upload party for Sing!, a national vocal talent competition designed to shine the spotlight on choirs, choruses, gospel singers, glee clubs, vocal groups, duos and soloists, will take place Saturday at PC Smart Bar in the Deer Park Town Center.

The Upload Party is a chance for vocalists to come together, have questions about the competition answered and record and/or upload their contest entry. Computers with microphones will be available for use by all guests.

The entry period for the contest runs through May 31.

Refreshments and snacks from Harry & David and prizes, including gift cards and a chance to win a ride in a limo to a taping of The X Factor auditions, will be available for those who upload at the event. Vocalists who enter that day will also have a chance to win a $500 prize.

Judges will select 12 entries to perform live at Deer Park either Sept. 17 or 24. The winners will receive a an opportunity to participate in a singing, songwriting and recording session with two-time Emmy award winner Kevin Briody, as well as $5,000 in MasterCard gift cards to split among the group and a $20,000 donation to the charity of the winning group’s choice.
