Daily Herald readers are owed an apology from Fence Post writer Larry Leafblad, who on May 1 complained that President Obama, instead of doing his job, had been involved in nothing but time-wasting “silliness” the previous week, such as taping Oprah Winfrey’s show.Later on the same day Mr. Leafblad#146;s letter appeared, we learned that Osama bin Laden had been killed in a high-risk takedown authorized by the president in a national security meeting held during the very period of time he was allegedly slacking off at work.The fact is that Mr. Obama, who promised as a candidate in 2008 to put an end to bin Laden once and for all, accomplished in two years what the dithering Bush-Cheney regime was unable to do in seven.Thorn RandallLibertyville
