Northwest suburban garage band seeks votes

Sound Garage Band has made it to the finals of a national contest and is looking for votes.

Listen to the song “Overdrive” at garagebandplayoff.com and vote for the band whose members are Chad Sebby and Gabriel Bucataru of Arlington Heights, Marshall Hong of Hoffman Estates, and Rob Farina of Crystal Lake.

Voting ends at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 12.

The group has performed together in praise and worship bands, Beatles cover bands and fundraisers. The members have played jazz, psychedelic jam, glam rock, bossa nova, Muzak, and Christian rock.

The contest is sponsored by USAA, which is a financial services firm for people in the military and their families. The contest’s grand prize is $4,000, a professional photo shoot and a magazine article.
