Advocate Condell offers childbirth class in Spanish.

Advocate Condell Medical Center, 801 S. Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville, is beginning a new Prepared Childbirth class in Spanish.

The first sessions are May 16 and 23 from 6 -9:30pm. The cost is $25. Register by calling (800) 323-8622.

The Spanish Prepared Childbirth class offers a common-sense, thorough approach to a knowledgeable, relaxed childbirth, preparing the expectant mother and her coach for the labor process, vaginal and C-section delivery, newborn characteristics and the postpartum period. Relaxation, labor coaching skills and a 5 step breathing method will be practiced in the class.

Appreciation for cultural beliefs and rituals will be recognized and discussed. A tour of the New Life Maternity Center is included.

It is recommended that participants attend this class 2 months prior to their due date.

This class will be held in the Allen Conference Center, and is a two part series, meeting two consecutive Monday nights.
