St. Charles lacrosse clubs get walking for Wounded Warriors

The St. Charles Boys Lacrosse Club is sponsoring its first Walk for Wounded Warriors Saturday to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.

The 5-mile walk begins at 9 a.m. at Gunnar Anderson Park in Geneva. Same day registration is $20 for adults, $10 for kids 4 to 12 and starts at 8 a.m. Preregistered walkers sign in at 8:30 a.m.

The mission of the WWP is to honor and empower wounded warriors. WWP provides unique programs and services that ease the burdens of the wounded and their families.

The St. Charles Boys Lacrosse Club is comprised of players from both St. Charles East and North high schools. The group has already raised $4,000. The girls lacrosse team will also be taking part in the walk.

Gunnar Anderson Park is at 719 Batavia Ave. at the Kane County Government Center.
