Thanks for support of soldier’s family

This letter is overdue, but with nine more Americans killed in Afghanistan recently, it seems a good time to send it.

On behalf of my sister, Liz Wade, and the extended Wade and Hagedorn families, we would like to extend a huge “THANK YOU” to everyone in the Antioch, Waukegan and surrounding areas who showed so much respect and honor for our beloved Andrew who was killed while serving with the Army in Afghanistan on March 9.

The presence of students and staff in front of HR McCall Elementary School, Millburn Central School and Antioch High School waving flags and saluting was tremendous. We so appreciated the many people in downtown Antioch and along the way from the airport and to the cemetery who came out and showed such respect The Patriot Guard and everyone who prayed, sent notes, sent food, came to the services, or displayed a flag at half staff was wonderful.

Thank you for easing a bit of the ache in our hearts and for standing with us at this time. Continue your great support of all those serving our country!
