Huntley residents receive Girl Scout awards
Huntley – Local volunteers received recognition and awards during a Volunteer Recognition Event hosted by Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois on April 16.
Kelly Harkins and Carolyn Krich, both of Huntley, received the Girl Scout Appreciation Pin, which is awarded to volunteers actively giving outstanding service to at least one geographic area.
Harkins is the Winnebago Service Unit Manager and has met her service unit's goal for Girl Scout recruitment three years in a row!
Krich is also a Service Unit Manager and Troop Coordinator who has exceeded her service unit's Girl Scout membership goal by 113 girls!
Kristina Johnson of Huntley received the Girl Scout Thanks Badge, which is awarded to volunteers actively giving service that impacts the Girl Scout council or the entire Girl Scout Movement.
Johnson is the GSNI Council Cookie Program Cupboard Manager and has conducted cookie cupboard trainings in all areas of the council. Through her efforts, other volunteers are better able to navigate the cookie computer program, understand the cookie process, and help girls learn the 5 skills of the Girl Scout Cookie Program - goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics!
