Getting to know the Atlanta Hawks

Editor's note: Veteran NBA writer Mike McGraw offers this scouting report of the Atlanta Hawks, who face the Bulls tonight in Game 1 of their second-round series.

Starters

2 Joe Johnson

Ht: 6-7; Pos: SG; Yrs pro: 9

Stats: 18.2 pts, 4.7 asts, .443 FG pct, .297 3-pt pct.

Signed huge contract last summer, then produced first sub-20-point season in six years with Hawks.

0 Jeff Teague

Ht: 6-2; Pos: PG; Yrs pro: 1

Stats: 5.2 pts, 2.0 asts, .438 FG pct.

Second-year guard would be an obvious choice to start for Kirk Hinrich but rarely played in Orlando series.

5 Josh Smith

Ht: 6-9; Pos: SF; Yrs pro: 6

Stats: 16.5 pts, 8.5 rebs, 1.6 blks, .477 FG pct.

Second in voting for 2010 defensive player of year, produced career low in blocks this season.

15 Al Horford

Ht: 6-10; Pos: PF; Yrs pro: 3

Stats: 15.3 pts, 9.3 rebs, .557 FG pct.

Former Florida teammate of Joakim Noah led Atlanta in assists during Orlando series.

34 Jason Collins

Ht: 7-0; Pos: C; Yrs. pro: 10

Stats: 2.0 pts, 2.1 rebs, .477 FG pct.

This is the Collins brother who went to the NGA Finals twice with the Nets, not the one who played in Utah.

Reserves

11 Jamal Crawford

Ht: 6-5; Pos: SG; Yrs pro: 10

Stats: 14.2 pts, 3.2 asts; .341 3-pt pct.

Former Bulls guard led Hawks at 20.5 ppg. in Orlando series, hit 17 of 37 attempts from 3-point range.

24 Marvin Williams

Ht: 6-9; Pos: SF; Yrs pro: 5

Stats: 10.4 pts, 4.8 rebs, .458 FG pct.

Tom Thibodeau calls him underrated; could return to starting lineup after coming off bench vs. Orlando.

27 Zaza Pachulia

Ht: 6-11; Pos: C; Yrs pro: 7

Stats: 4.4 pts, 4.2 rebs, .461FG pct.

Doesn't start but usually plays more than Collins. Definitely Hawks most physical player.

Others: 6-9 C Josh Powell, 6-6 SF Damien Wilkins, 6-11 C Hilton Armstrong, 6-10 C Etan Thomas.
