Elgin church welcomes troubadour

On Friday, May 13, Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren, 783 W. Highland Ave., Elgin, presents Midwest troubadour Mark Dvorak for a coffee house concert at 7 p.m.

Over the last two decades, Dvorak has forged a reputation as an uncompromising road warrior, traveling to 36 states and to Europe with only his songs, stories, guitar and banjo.

The Majestic concert will be the third in a series of CD release shows scheduled for Dvorak. His new disc on the Waterbug label, “Time Ain’t Got Nothin’ On Me,” has been receiving rave reviews and airplay nationwide.

Dvorak will be performing songs from his new CD, as well as more well known material and favorites from his previous recordings. “Time Ain’t Got Nothin’ on Me” is Dvorak’s 17th CD release.
