Another tough loss for Cougars
BURLINGTON, Iowa — For the second day in a row, the Kane County Cougars suffered a tough loss to the Burlington Bees. On Friday the Cougars fell 2-1 in 11 innings despite getting 8 solid innings from Leonel Santiago and going 1-2-3 as an offense just twice.
The Bees scored a quick run in the first inning against Santiago, but after that Santiago retired 22 of 23 hitters to work through the eighth inning.
The Cougars stranded 12 runners, including a pair in the seventh when they had runners at the corners with one out and three in the eighth when they loaded the bases with no outs.
The Cougars have lost six consecutive games and are 0-5 on their six-game road trip.
