Scientific fact: Life must come from life
When will we permit education rather than require indoctrination about origins in science classes in our public schools? Education would involve applying the fundamental laws of science to the origin issues.
What laws would that involve? Here are a few: the first and second laws of thermodynamics; the gas laws vs. star formation; the law of biogenesis; the empirical principles of information theory; the criteria of the SETT program applied to DNA
Let’s look at just the third one on the list. Biology students would consider the scientific law of biogenesis which states that life comes only from life. This biological law precludes the spontaneous generation of life. Scientists have proved false the notion of spontaneous generation multiple times at several levels throughout recent centuries [e. g. Redi, Spallanzani, Pasteur etc.]. Yet, students are taught that life evolved spontaneously from non-living matter about three billion years ago. That teaching is totally unscientific, having been proven false by scientific experiments many times. So, why are teachers continuing to indoctrinate students with these false ideas?
This type of indoctrination has been effective as seen in many of the letters to the editor on this subject. These writers have been indoctrinated not educated. That’s sad. Their views are the result of poor science and poor education!
If we require that the subject of origins be taught in the science curriculum, students should be well educated, not indoctrinated as they are now.
